Brittany Garcia-Cross, MEd, LPC

Hello! Iā€™m Brittany Garcia-Cross, a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I obtained both my Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Minor in Studio Art, and Master of Education in Counseling from The University of Houston. I am currently a member of the American Counseling Association and the Association for Child and Adolescent Counseling.

I obtained significant training while working at the McLean OCD Institute // Houston from 2018-2021. I worked for two years as a residential counselor providing evidence-based treatments in a residential setting to clients struggling with moderate-severe OCD, anxiety, and/or depression. This experience allowed me to transition in the role of Admissions Coordinator for the residential support program, partial hospitalization program, and adolescent intensive outpatient program.

My practicum experience at GDI Enterprises allowed me to work with children in the foster care system (ages 4-14) to improve their executive function and self-regulation skills. At this site I worked with a variety of diagnoses, including post-traumatic stress disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and oppositional defiant disorder.

I completed my clinical internship in two private practice settings, Emily Anderson, PhD, PLLC and the OCD & Anxiety Center of Houston (OATH Therapy), where I used evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with Exposure and Response Prevention (E/RP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to treat obsessive compulsive and related disorders, anxiety disorders, depression, and major life stressors in children, adolescents, and adults.

Most recently, I worked in private practice under Dr. Ally Sequeira at Houston OCD & Anxiety. This allowed me the opportunity to continue providing evidence-based treatments to children (ages 6+), adolescents, and adults with OCD, anxiety disorders, depression, major life stressors, and emotion dysregulation.

Outside of the therapy world, I enjoy traveling, running, reading, exploring the newest coffee spot, playing board and card games, puzzling, and spending time with my beloved animals: Sebastian, Musa, and Tigger (pictured below).
